13. THE TORTOISE AND THE EAGLE. A Tortoise, anxious to see the world, asked an Eagle to teach him to fly, and offered him a reward if he would do so. Taking the Tortoise in his talons the Eagle mounted even to the clouds, where, relinquished his hold, the Tortoise fell to the earth and was dashed to pieces. MORAL.
